About Speech Therapy

Students receiving speech/language therapy services may have articulation, language, voice, or fluency difficulties.  These difficulties affect their ability to communicate in the classroom in the areas of speaking, listening, reading and/or writing.

At Gertie Belle Rogers, eligible students receive therapy services individually or in small groups.  Therapy is designed to address the communication needs of the student -

  • improving intelligibility
  • expanding vocabulary
  • enhancing comprehension
  • correcting sentence structure
  • improving fluency
